Some of you may remember my best day ever. For those that don’t – or are too lazy to click that link and read about it – I basically had an absolutely fantastic day at the Animal Kingdom with N (who wasn’t even two years old at that point). It culminated in a real tear-jerker of a moment in an aviary.

We were back at the Animal Kingdom yesterday. This time it was the whole family, not just the two of us. We had a great time, of course, but by the time we got to that same aviary, we were all tired and ready for dinner.

The boys spotted a couple of birds in the aviary and then headed for the exit. Right by the exit, we noticed a couple of ladies watching a truly impressive looking golden pheasant. We caught the boys and pointed out the bird. They said “Hi” to the ladies, looked at the bird, and then N said in the cheeriest voice possible “Okay! Time to go now! Time to go!”

Sigh.

He’s not even three years old yet. Isn’t it too soon for me to be looking back fondly at when he was little?
