Thoughts
My youngest really does not like to get out of bed after he takes a nap. There has to be something really exciting going on for him to get up. Otherwise, it’s a struggle.
He comes up with all sorts of excuses for not getting out of bed, also. There’s the ever popular “no, I want MOMMY to get me” when I try to get him, which conveniently becomes “I want DADDY to get me” when his mom tries to get him. There’s also “I’m still sleeping!” and “Just a few more minutes!”
I’ve gotten pretty good at ignoring all the excuses.
The other day, however, as I was getting him up he came up with a new one. He rolled away from me, eyes still closed.
“No, no, no! I’m having THOUGHTS.”
I have to admit that one stopped me.
