Waiting to be king
“I’m gonna be a mighty king,
so enemies beware!”
With the little guy still recovering from surgery, I’m driving the kids to school instead of biking them in. We listen to a Disney CD on the way, singing along as we go.
“I’ve never seen a king of beasts,
with quite so little hair”
On many of the songs, we each take a different part. On Chim-Chimnee, for example, I’m Bert.
“I’m gonna be the mane event,
Like no king was before.
I’m brushing up on looking down,
I’m working on my roar!”
On The Lion King song, though, the kids have unanimously appointed me to be Zazu.
“Thus far, a very uninspiring thing.”
What I don’t understand is how the heck I ended up being Zazu. How’d I miss out on being Mufasa? I clearly remember being Simba. Shouldn’t I be Mufasa?
“Oh, I just can’t wait to be king!”
I hate Zazu.
Happy Halloween everyone!
