Making Waves in Houston

During part of our Houston trip this past week, I took the boys to the Houston Aquarium. We had a ton of fun. Afterward, the weather was sunny but cool – perfect for driving. I decided to take the city streets back to the hotel instead of the highway.

We kept the windows open, and the boys decided to start collecting waves. If you’re not familiar with it, collecting waves is a game where you try to get as many people as possible to wave to you (here’s an article about it).

As people waved back, the boys’ enthusiasm increased. Tentative one-handed waves and hesitant smiles turned into huge two-handed gestures with shouts of “Hello, Houston!” and “Peace!”

We collected smiles from pedestrians, waves from other drivers, even a peace-sign from a bus driver.

’cause that’s just how we roll.
